Takeaways from #atomicon23

In June 2023 I attended the Atomicon 2023 conference. A fantastic conference with a focus on sales and marketing for independent businesses.

Being in the room with so many amazing speakers and attendees was great.

Here are my top takeaways, and if you are a client of mine, these will sound very familiar!

Make sure your content gives value to your audience. Do more than just talk about your service or products. Give the audience value in following you, top tips, advice, how-to's, etc.

Show Up! Content, posts and email campaigns do not have to be perfect! It is better to show up and create a connection rather than wait to be perfect! Don’t keep waiting for the perfect time or the perfect image or post get out there and show up!

Also show up as the face of the business, stop hiding away.

Utilise that email list and grow it! Even if you have five subscribers at the moment, five people are willing to listen to you. Stop being at the mercy of the algorithm and secure a safe place to consistently communicate with your clients.

Don't forget LinkedIn! So many businesses forget about this fantastic platform. Yes, it requires its own tone and approach, but it's a great platform to showcase your business growth and achievements.

User Generated Content (UGC) is where it's at! This content type is one of the most engaging and popular! Work with users to generate this content. Sign up for my newsletter, as we will be releasing a tool kit to assist you with this soon.

It's time to start working with Micro and Nano influencers. They have a smaller but highly engaged and loyal audience. They have built a strong connection with their followers. Their recommendations are perceived as more authentic and trustworthy.

Engaging with your audience is just as critical as posting on Social Media. It helps you to build a community, establishes trust and credibility, strengthens customer relationships and helps you to convert viewers and followers to actual customers.

Successful digital marketing includes a mix of value, demonstrations, testimonials & CTA's. Providing value to your audience is crucial in digital marketing, this can be achieved through blog posts, articles, videos, infographics, or social media posts that address your audience's needs and interests.

Demonstrations are a powerful way to showcase your products or services in action. This can involve videos, live streams, webinars, or tutorials highlighting the features and benefits of your service or product.

Testimonials provide social proof and credibility to your brand. Positive feedback and reviews from satisfied customers can influence others' purchasing decisions.

CTAs are essential for guiding your audience to take the desired actions. Whether it's signing up for a newsletter, making a purchase, or scheduling an appointment, CTAs prompt users to engage further with your business.
